Last year, Kimura played blindman in Bushi no Ichibun and this year, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi has accepted the movie 山のあなた~徳市の恋~ You in the mountains: The love of Yawata (I'm not sure if this is Yawata of Kyoto or Hiroshima , title to be confirmed.)
This story is based on the work of Hiroshi Shimizu called "Masseur and the girls" and the setting is the hot springs in the mountain. The story is about the love story with a girl. Tsuyoshi has always have an honest style to him but in the movie he would play the role of a lusty masseur in Yawata City. His character is arrogant which is contrary to his normal image. Because he has rarely any rumors about him, he joked, "Basically, I like girls. Even though I don't have much rumors, and perhaps you might all misunderstand that I like man, but I am normal."
For this role, he is now receiving training from a massage instructior and his skills are quite perfect already according to him.
Kimura also played a blindman in last year's movie and Tsuyoshi's acting is has always been highly regarded. This will bring comparison between the two. The movie has already started filming for four weeks and will be released in 2008. The costars include Maiko, Shinichi Tsutsumi and Ryo Kase.

Kimura Takuya's What's Up SMAP Feb 15, 2006!!

I can't believe it. I have actually found 2007 statistical yearbook from Japan and it has some English in it and extremely comprehensive data. Perfect for busy bodies like me.
If you look at this table of Monthly Receipts and Disbursements per Household of Specific Households, you could see that a married man of Kimura's age (34) should be earning 7,308,000 yen per year. That's translated to US$5,075 per month or US$60,900 per year. Of course, Kimura earns more than that but it is definitely interesting for me to see that there are such figures. In the US, the average household income in 2006 was US$46,326. On this page of international comparison, you would see the 2006 median income of the US, compared to Asian countries. Japan though not listed would probably be the same as the US.
