I watched a couple of clips of the Endless Shock this year and with the addition of Toma, it makes it even more exciting because Toma brings the bad boy touch to his act. And yes, he could sing and dance too. I especially love his dance duel with Koichi. And Koichi continues to impress me as a great dancer. He dances with a spirit in him as though his entire body is made up of dancing cells. I hope he will release a DVD this year for this show.

This is the fan meeting held after the DVD of 2004's 1/2 concert that is subbed in Chinese.  There are 7 parts altogether and I'm watching them gradually.  In part 1 , Koichi said that he was to organize this fan meeting before the DVD release but then no one would have seen it so they organized it for later. (It's 5 or 6 months after the concert). There were Shanghai fans and Koichi said 你好.

All JE groups like to sing this song Andalusia because of the dance sequence. Koichi performed this in 1999 Mask, 2001, 2002 Shock and 2003-2004 Countdown. I always wondered what he was singing about and today I chanced on some Chinese translations and so I've translated it.  Andalusia is a city in Granada, in Southern part of Spain. Another concert came and went and Kinki Kids have very little parts in it as compared to being the MC last year.  They really only appeared for a short medley and shortly after Matchy came out, then the ending where they talked for a brief couple minutes about their 10th year anniversary.  Koichi continues to touch Tsuyoshi's beaver hat.  I am beginning to believe this is a ploy to get the love love fans to react when in fact there is not much to it.  The recipient of the touch is nonchalant and the toucher puts up an act. blah....and Tsuyoshi looked tired if not slightly disinterested or even unfocused.

Tsuyoshi composed and wrote lyrics for this song in his late teens and only sang it once at the Kinki Kids 3 Days Panic Concert 98-99. It is not even recorded in an album.  You could watch this live performance here.  I encourage everyone who visits this blog to listen to it and read the lyrics. Tsuyoshi's favorite school subject was literature and you could tell from his lyrics. When it comes to his romantic songs, my love for Tsuyoshi is boundless. Hope some of you would grow to like him too. This song is for everyone who visits this blog.

I don't post much Kinki Kids photos here because I post them at the forum with a different webspace that doesn't allow me to post in a Taiwan blog so you should all go to my forum to see the daily postings.  But this set is really beautiful.  Never mind Tsuyoshi has facial hair.  The backgrounds make up for it. In general, Tsuyoshi has more interesting photos, either because Tsuyoshi knows how to pose, he is more photogenic or the photographers frame Tsuyoshi better.  Koichi couldn't care less most of the time and rarely has any good side profiles. It's very rare that we see a Koichi in a photo with a mood.  The middle one of Koichi in this sense is exquisite.  (Potato November 2005)

The 2006 Kinki Kids concert came and went. After a few days of unsteady cable service from Taiwan and China, I finally had a glimpse of the concert photos and I have a certain unspeakable sadness that I could not express at the forum.  I don't understand why Tsuyoshi wore his facial hair, and I don't understand why he had to wear his head gear, looking slovenly.  Perhaps when better photos come out, it might show otherwise, or perhaps when I see them sing and dance and do the MC parts, it might feel different.  But...gulp...it's hard to swallow.  That Kinki Kids has become so diametrically opposite in style in outlook.  Was Tsuyoshi not happy with his side shave hair style and so had to hide it in a beaver hat? If I buy the DVD, I would be staring at that voluminous furry object next to the beautiful hair of Koichi...gulp... Why can't they look pretty together for once?  I have a glimpse of the countdown concert too and Tsuyoshi looked tired if not....I don't know how to describe him anymore....

ONE MORE UPDATE:  I understand from a long time fan that Tsuyoshi once said that whenever he feels tired, discouraged, he would also listen to EVERY LITTLE THING'S Time Goes By and no matter how wilted he was, he would perk up soon after listening to this song. So here is the song and here are the lyrics.

UPDATE UPDATE Okay, I have confirmation from a Chinese fan! The song  that saved Tsuyoshi's soul is not track 14 but is track no. 7 Song without a Name/ Na mo Naki Uta/ 名もなき詩.

I was watching young Kinki Kids in the 97 Toki-Kin program and came across their song performance of this old hit of 1982 by a duo called Amin.  Aaahhh! I love the song, but even more, I love Kinki Kids' young voice singing it.  I love Koichi dressing up as a young girl. He was so girlish! My daughter said he could be a girl and no one could tell the difference.  Love every moment of it.  So for those who are Kinki Kids fans, I have especially prepared the following treat.  (Video  , audio wav file of Kinki Kids  , flash file of Amin's video .) You could watch Amin performing it in three different clips  (1) , (2) , (3) which may not be there for long knowing how Japan is aggressively going after these clips. I should also curtail similar activities here too.   Sigh, I'm really getting old when I am so nostalgic about such songs!

I'm a bit slow in watching all the clips that I got on Kinki Kids but today, I just realized that Tsuyoshi Domoto has announced taking Endlicheri Endlicheri concerts overseas.  So let me give you the photo and translation of the clip so that you could believe it.  It is likely it could grow into an Asian tour if he so wants and that could mean Taipei, China, Hong Kong, possibly not Thailand due to political instability but hopefully also Korea. The news is in two parts. Koichi first then Tsuyoshi.
