Mirror no. 1, Eternal Rain no. 5 on Oricon charts
I just realized last night that Rain's Eternal Rain album, his first Japanese full solo album was released on the same day as Koichi Domoto's Mirror, his first solo album. My two ichiban dancer of Korea and Japan.

Compared the two, I like Rain's deep voice much better and his dances are more sexy and energetic than Koichi's. Rain's voice could definitely be called the soul voice of Korea. I loop Because of You the whole day yesterday and I swear at one point as I was lost in surfing, I had to rethink who I was listening to because it sounded African American. But I tell you, Rain's voice will carry him all the way to 50's, 60's and I will still listen to him. That was the first feeling I had the first time I heard him when I was screening around 20 Korean artists for the first time and he caught me at once. To this day, that feeling of "Wow! Where did this guy come from?" is the still there. Great great voice! Comparable to Grover Washington Jr and Barry White and the likes but better because he's Asian!
Koichi's music is basically all dance music - jazz , show, or pop and I like him for his grace and fluidity in his dance steps. And his sincerity and longing is translated in every song. Koichi is a showmaster.
So I'm happy that both my ichiban are doing well on today's Oricon charts.
