When a Man Loves a Woman by Tsuyoshi Domoto

I came across this song by Tsuyoshi Domoto and would like to share it.  This was the theme song of Pour L'Amour D'une Femme or When a Man Loves a Woman in English  in 1994 by Andy Garcia and Meg Ryan.  The story is about a pilot husband trying to deal with his wife who is an alcoholic and is endangering the life of their daughter. You could watch the trailer here.  You could also watch Tsuyoshi singing it at the G-concert here.  I personally feel that sometimes Tsuyoshi overdoes it in his stage display when he sings his emotional songs and this is one such example. Perhaps when he is slightly older and more mature looking, he would be perfect.  Nevertheless, his vocal rendition of the song is superb and very attractive to listen to.  Click here. I have been looping it all morning.  If I don't know what Tsuyoshi looks like in person, him being so young, I would have marvelled at the emotion in the performance and wanted to watch him sing it live. Tsuyoshi, you have a bright future ahead of you.

I have been listening to Tsuyoshi's Si album and Rosso E Azzurro album continuously the last two days and I have to say that he makes the rest of Johnny Entertainment idols pale next to him in musical talents. My head is full of him recently. This photo is a graphic mix and match I did today. The background is my nearby state park, and the character is Tsuyoshi.   If Tsuyoshi breaks off from Kinki Kids thereby rendering Kinki Kids defunct, I would not blame him. I would continue to support both Koichi and Tsuyoshi as separate artists.  For truly, their style is very different.  One is visual and one is musical.  Could KinKi Kids style stay forever the same without variety and advancement?  Will fans not be tired of it?

Just like Gackt breaks off from Malice Mizer to pursue his own career, Hyde spins off to regularly do his own solos and gets back with L'Arc en Ciel from time to time, Shinhwa members all doing their solo albums, these two Domoto brothers should be allowed to do their gig without having to hear complaints from Kinki Kids fans of them going separate ways.  As an artist, if you don't grow, you are behind.  We'll wait and see what Johnny's Entertainment could concoct for future Kinki Kids' gigs, but if it is half hearted because the artists themselves have surpassed the teeny bopper idol stage, and the songs dished out to them do not commensurate with their strengths, let them be. Time for them to make it on their own.

Here is the original singer, Percy Sledge singing the song. and here is the lyrics to the song.

A fan made an MV of the movie itself with Michael Bolton singing it, so you could watch the footages of the movie itself here.

Edit: By the way, you could watch Tsuyoshi sing this song at Sony's OUR MUSIC with Ayado Chie on December 16, 2006.

Here is the clip.
