ラスト・プレゼント Last Present by Tsuyoshi Domoto
I've just watched Tsuyoshi's Last Present last night. Man, 1/4 through, I was already crying all the way almost to the end. Loved Tsuyoshi's performance. Yep, didn't think he would make a mature husband and he played the role well. So this one was a remake of a Korean drama by the same name starring Lee Young Ae and The story is about Tsuyoshi who was struggling to become a comedian but was not getting anywhere. His estranged wife in the meantime was suffering from a terminal illness.

I love how he cried and changed his emotions subtly, from smiling at the swindler to pain...and his seriousness at most times. I got to love all his comedic roles when on stage. He does have a flair on those things, doesn't he? I haven't watched enough LL and DB to even notice that side of him. Perhaps I should watch Fantastipo after all.
Miho Kanno is a good actress, but poor girl, did she starve herself to make this drama special?
Ah, when it was the bedscene, I was laughing so hard. Gosh...I didn't think he could hold her...I wonder if he was nervous just holding her in that scene. But that look of him bending down and ready to switch off the light, he looks very...ahem...desirable.
But poor guys, what strained relations. The breakfast scene was hard to watch...ah...want to cry just thinking about it.
Tsuyoshi, I have to say, is an impressive actor! And the director chose the right person to portray the uneasiness of a strained relationship. I think many of his scenes would ruminate in my mind for a long time. By the way, his clothes in the drama looks very expensive for a struggling artist. Not only the purple sweatshirt is pretty, the brown two tone suede jacket is very stylish. And him wearing the suit on stage...that's the best look of him - so stylish - after the white shirted look in the bedroom.

Screencaps for you to take home.
