Johnny's Countdown 2006-2007

Another concert came and went and Kinki Kids have very little parts in it as compared to being the MC last year.  They really only appeared for a short medley and shortly after Matchy came out, then the ending where they talked for a brief couple minutes about their 10th year anniversary.  Koichi continues to touch Tsuyoshi's beaver hat.  I am beginning to believe this is a ploy to get the love love fans to react when in fact there is not much to it.  The recipient of the touch is nonchalant and the toucher puts up an act. blah....and Tsuyoshi looked tired if not slightly disinterested or even unfocused.

Recently at my forum, I have said all I wanted about their disharmony. I'm sure a lot of Tsuyoshi fans are upset. So be it. That's how I feel. If I don't say it, I'm not true to myself and my feelings.  I don't intend to walk around eggshells.  It's my forum.  If I turn it into a Koichi mini section for lack of responses by Tsuyoshi fans and KK fans, that's fine too.  There are enough Tsuyoshi forums and blogs out there. Someone has to stand up for Koichi fans who have their feelings suppressed for too long because there are more vocal Tsuyoshi fans throughout the net.  This is not a war of Koichi only fan vs KK fans vs Tsuyoshi only fans.  This is me as a webmistress who is being honest with what I see and I vocalize it. Many Koichi fans do not even dare say peep in forums because they bound to be swamped by Tsuyoshi defences.  I am only saying that it is unprofessional for Tsuyoshi to walk off stage at the end of the Jan 1, 2007 concert without a proper goodbye.  Period.  As an artist, shouldn't thanking the audience be good manners? Can you imagine Tackey doing that in a T&T concert? or say, Kame walks off just like that from the Kat-Tun stage.  Or to put it more severely, Kimura walks off like that.

Never mind the subsequent discussions of Koichi being stranded, feeling embarrassed or awkward...and defences of Tsuyoshi being emotional and true to himself etc etc....the rest are all conjectures.  Just plain facts. Etiquette and the lack thereof.

I rewatched the SMAP concert and I continue to marvel at how much positive energy that group gives out, how happy the audience is, how happy I and my family are even just by watching them on a DVD.  While Nakai's injury might have spurred Goro to look more charming and directly into the camera, and Shingo to lose weight to be alluring again, and Kimura to take the unusual lead in everything, SMAP as a group is incredibly positive. No wonder why the press name them the national treasure.  Japan is lucky to have such a group.

On the other hand, the recent disharmony in Kinki Kids brings a lot of negative energy to my life.  It's dipiladating to the spirit in a way.  I have to go so much more deeper and extensively to find things to feel cheerful about. I scroll through over 15 sites and weblogs everyday to find something that is worthwhie to translate, to post, to make everyone happy, and only a handful seem to care.  Their articles are not perky like the SMAP ones and not funny like Takeshi's.  Perhaps I have misjudged this group afterall. Perhaps a-true-to-his-feelings and show-it-all-artist is just not my cup of tea and I have underestimated the negative energy such a personality exerts on a positive person like me. No wonder why my father always forbade me to date or marry artists.  He told me that I in the end would suffer for their lack of stability and their unstable temperaments.  Thank you, dad.
I shall now rename the mini forum as Koichi Domoto & Kinki Kids section just like my blog category.

I'm sorry that KinKi brought you negative energy... (dunno how many times have I apologised to people who went for KK con this time already). I have

to tell myself to go listen to more Arashi and V6 songs to lift up my mood too. ^^;; I don't usually see myself as a positive person but as far as I'm

concerned, the last thing I need is someone who may be like me too. I know fans of his love him for "being true to himself"... but

somehow I don't find myself looking up to a person like that. Instead, I rather follow someone whose professionalism can inspire/motivate me at all

times. I advise you to read more Koichi's words, esp. during this SHOCK period. I always love him when he's fighting in SHOCK mode.

darwin51  | 09/01/2007 21:09:02

Oh! Now I'm convinced if you can spot that Koichi is playing with Tsuyo to create "effects" for lovelove fans,

then think I shouldn't be biased to say that it's all for a show. Anyway, they too know that some girls are weird,

like to see them getting touchy with each other. *I only root for NagasexKoichi* LOL!

darwin51  | 09/01/2007 21:09:37

Ha, you have been here, Elysia. Good. Yep, this is

really the place where I throw my truest thoughts

around - the verbalizing of my thoughts, the backroom

of the forum. This is where I am what I am. Should

the forum disappear one day, these things that I post

here are truly things that mean something to me.

That's why there are some duplication of articles but

ther are much that I haven't said at the forum either.

gakinme  | 10/01/2007 05:35:38

Anyway, back to the lovelove bit...I have been

translating a lot of love love articles when I first

started the mini section, realizing that there is a

market for such translations. And it was good to

know how Koichi really values Tsuyoshi as a work

partner. Then the more I look into the Chinese

forums, the more stories I read that have been

written of the two, the more I realize it is

something that the fans created into epic

proportions. The change cameas I review the old

episodes of Love Love Aishiteru and older Domoto

Brothers' episodes, and notice the remarkable

difference of Tsuyoshi in his handling of shows.

Koichi plays along for this market but Tsuyoshi seems

to be pulling away from it. It might be a company

directive I think. Tsuyoshi wears his feelings at

his sleeve (for which his fans love him) and one

could tell Tsuyoshi either does not want to play

along or he is feeling awkward about it finally.

gakinme  | 10/01/2007 05:36:12

The beaver hat was the only way he could keep this

mask on to bind that element into the act. Without

it, it's getting hard to have that love love feel.

That's why based on the reports, when he changed

outfit and did not have the beaver hat on, he sulked

for three songs...a few nights in the row accordingly.

Which also brings to the point you made at the

forum. Wrong focus. I haven't seen the concert yet

so I would not criticize the performance for now.

I've read the concert reports and the MC parts and I

can't even bring myself to translate it because it

sounds a bit fake, that chirpiness. Perhaps in the

10th anniversary, they would make a breakthrough.

gakinme  | 10/01/2007 05:36:59

The breakthrough should be in music. Not

relationship on stage. By now, I have given up on

wanting to see them being buddy buddy (not even love

love). That is no longer the focus. The focus is -

how to merge two very different styles - and make

this into a unique group that keeps growing

musically. The word 10th year anniversary doesn't

mean anything to me at all. I don't want to see them

only do it for 10th year anniversary and then forget

about it. I want them to keep growing and evolving.

gakinme  | 10/01/2007 05:37:37

But if the 10th year concert is just a replay of all

the old songs, then there's no point. Might as well

just rewatch all the old DVDs. From now on, Kinki

Kids have to make something that equals if not

surpass their solo standards. Anything less, we

bound to feel that they don't care enough for Kinki

Kids. True? That's why I say by gut feel, they don't

care enough about Kinki but more about their solos.

If they have produced something exceptional like

their solo efforts, why would I be complaining? Why

would I be speculating that there is a breakage in

their relationship, their momentum and ambition for

the duo group. Because Natsu no Moyo sucks, I album

is a half baked job...that's why I have all these

reservations about them.

Now that I have studied the whole hearted TOKIO's

and V6 interactions on Music Station, talk shows,

concert performances etc...my doubt for Kinki Kids

continues.

gakinme  | 10/01/2007 05:37:54

I envy you to be able to speak your mind

at your blog. I'm now feeling that I can't

even do that at my own blog. ><;; I don't

know but young KinKi used to be

quite "buddy buddy" with each other, and

most of the time initiated by Tsuyo

somemore, which is amazing to me... coz

nowadays you only see Koichi trying to

make that effort. But then again, I'm not

into that already.

darwin51  | 11/01/2007 01:05:31

I agree that the breakthru' needs to be in

terms of music. I mean I really like

Koichi solo works, and actually I feel

that I could appreciate Tsuyo solo works

in the name of Endlicheri more too. But

somehow when it comes to KinKi, I don't

find the same level of passion... it is

very apalling to me coz they claim that

KinKi is a very important existance to

them (at least Koichi claims that all the

time) so I don't see why they can't inject

the same level of passion into group work

as well. Time constraint is obviously one

major issue with both handling their solo

careers. To me, that Natsu Moyou single is

a flop. I can't understand why they must

force out this single. But then maybe it

was for the Johnny's Film Festa (coz they

will show new PVs from each group for that

film, and it will be embarrassing if KinKi

shows a PV from 7 months ago)

darwin51  | 11/01/2007 01:09:29

I guess the 10th anniversary will really

be a crucial time for them to prove what

KinKi is now. I hope when the time comes

to prove that the 2 can no longer produce

work in harmony, they will just let go.

But I guess in terms of company well-

being, it's not that easy. After all,

KinKi has to continue breaking their own

Guiness record. ><;;

darwin51  | 11/01/2007 01:13:02

Elsyia, yeah, if you don't mind me saying,

I notice there are still a few Tsuyoshi

lovers on your side pleading Tsuyoshi's

case. I thought by now you would have

filtered out all the Tsuyoshi/KK fans and

retain only Koichi fans with your

notoriously hard password questions.

hahaha...Can't beat them all. But don't

need to threaten to shut down a place

because of a few dissenters. If it gets

bad, just delete their comments. You

should seriously splash KOICHI ONLY in

your tagline...hahahaha...Or perhaps, you

are just too nice in your postings giving

so much leeway for Tsuyoshi defence.

gakinme  | 11/01/2007 02:22:20

*sigh* I don't know what to say or what to think any

more either....about KK...about anything really. So I've

been keeping quiet a lot. I feel a lot of times it's just not

worth it to have my words twisted around so I don't say

anything at all. I do know that Koichi is someone I can

trust and admire with my whole heart...no questions, no

doubts...I'm happy you feel the same. If it weren't for

you and elysia I'd feel like a very lonely Koichi fan.

(duotiger)

duotiger  | 11/01/2007 15:15:10

Sandra, Yes you are right... there are

quite a no. of KK fans over there, so it

makes it hard for me to totally slash T

sometimes. Again, my policy is usually I

rather ignore the person than talk bad.

LOL! And even though I see a lot of T fans

being very vocal, and obviously there are

points I can argue back, but sometimes it

gets very tiring to make people see your

point. I rather choose to believe in my

faith and keep quiet then. Like Koichi

once said "Those who know will know..."

But those who really know knows that I'm a

Koichi fan more than a KK fan. LOL!

Obviously there are blind people around. :P

darwin51  | 11/01/2007 18:25:56

Hahaha...you could slash T over here

anytime you want!! hahaha...no one will

bother you here! I'm with you!!

gakinme  | 12/01/2007 06:27:43

I was rewatching Johnny's Countdown again

tonight and I don't understand why KK only

get to come out after 12 midnight. Sigh.

They were left out of the entire mixed up

groups singing which are the fun parts. I

would have loved to watch them sing T&T

and V6 songs, or dueted with TOKIO.

Anyway, want to add I finally managed to

watch the Tegomass episode of DB and when

I saw Tegoshi imitating Tsuyoshi, I turned

green. *faint and runs away* I remember

when I first started off noticing

Tsuyoshi, I noticed he was a bit over in

his way of singing, but somehow I grew to

like him. But now seeing this

imitation...I feel embarrassed...hahaha...

gakinme  | 14/01/2007 16:06:10

they were probably still in concert so

they couldn't come to the first part. if

i'm not mistaken they had a concert right

before/during the countdown

ladyusagi  | 19/01/2007 15:58:26

What is wrong with you, Tsuyoshi??
