Here's what Gackt would look like when he finally appears on June 17 and July 29.I hope he doesn't die in this series immediately. Looking forward to it. We really like Kansuke!

We are watching this period drama Fuurin Kazan by NHK about the 16th century war strategist Yamamoto Kansuke and his ascent to power. If your country shows it, you have to watch it. This is as exciting as Yoshitsune!  Kansuke is blind in one eye and limp from an illness and refused to become a priest.  As a ronin, he went all over Japan to observe battles and yearned to become a strategist. And his chance came when his wife was killed by a cruel warlord and he became a spy for them. Neat neat story line of exciting intrique.

  

This is the first time I know of Uchino Masaaki who plays this male lead Kansuke and I like everyone of his scenes. My husband and I were glued to the series and even my daughter was rapt with attention while sitting close by us.

I'm now onto episode 4 and suddenly noticed Sato Ryuta has matured a lot in his facial features. And a very convincing cowardly villager. I hope they will bring him back one day. Just when I started to like him. 

Gackt is supposed to battle with Kansuke but he hasn't appeared yet. I'll be patient! This drama is very well received in Japan and while the press makes a big fuss about Hana Yori Dango 2 and Kimura's Kareinaru Ichizoku at above 20% (around 21-22%) duking each other out, Fuurin Kazan has been hovering between 19.3-21.9 %.  I actually enjoy this series the most out of these three that I watch this season.
