KIMURA TAKUYA'S WUS 0CTOBER 6, 2006

Finally next week, our 40th single, Arigatou, will be released!!

FAX:
Arigatou will be released soon. Please let us know the most recent "thank you" you said to someone today. For me, today I said "thank you" to my mom most recently. On the way to school, she ran after me because I had forgotton my bag and I told her thanks.

This is like sazaisan (comic strip). You went to school with your bags behind, right? Of course the "thank you" should come out naturally. I wonder when my last "thank you" was.. Just know when Kuririn brought an ashtray to the room I said "thank you".. Hm. That might be it. But the studio is non-smoking.

That phrase that really gets me every time is "thank you". When something thanks me for something I had done, it really pierces me. I like the phrase.

Today's WUS will be a ARITATOU soon-to be released with many faxes concerning the new single and me wanting to say thank you for that marathon SPECIALLL!!! That is our title for our special. Even the (music group) B'z will be shocked at the length of the special.

The phrase- "arigatou" has been really common recently. In songs, even in Dear Woman we had the lyric "from our heart, we thank you". And I noticed that in the concert, we start and end with the phrase "arigatou" to the fans. Start with A and end with A. It makes me feel like a samurai to be honest.

FAX:
I listened to the new single. It is a very nice song. Usually, I am not the type to say "thank you" openly with my parents but I would like to give this CD to my parents to show my thanks. Have you had anything like that, where it is hard to say arigatou to anyone in particular? When have you said "arigatou" from your heart to the smap members? Please talk about each arigatou episode with each member.

This person.. is like a tv magazine interviewer. It's difficult to answer. Like the interviewer, in a group interview, she would turn to me and ask "Please tell me how you're feeling thankful to each particular member", even when the members are sitting and listening right next to me! Thank you towards members? There are times when I show them appreciation. Yes. But most of the time it's a few steps before that. If I hadn't read the fax, I wouldn't have to answer this. But I have. Thank you to each separate member.. Will the way I speak differ with each member? Well if it's Shingo.. (my note.. Takuya really loves Shingo huh!) During the concert MC talk, when I'm feeling out of breath and the talk slows down, Shingo would just naturally pop in and say something funny.. And the audience would immediate respond positively. I say "thank you" to him for those times, I am really thankful to him. Shingo is a really inventive person, and he brings creativity. Like his clothes.. Sometimes I question his fashion sense, but then when I look at it, I realize it's really interesting. Like some of his clothes- it makes me wonder how he was able to walk through the airport like that. He doesn't just wear common brands, and he makes it interesting. And Tsuyoshi.. After the final, we all go out to drink. And when the alcohol goes to him and he gets a little drunk, he says each time- "we did it guys. today was awesome, it really was". He says it each time. (Takuya's voice here is really loving, brother-like) It makes me feel "Oh you said it!" (as in he feels proud of Tsuyoshi's sincerity). Usually I can't say such things easily, even if I am thinking it. It takes a bit of alcohol, but Tsuyoshi says it. When we are planning the concert, Nakai is so mature. (adult-like). Even when I am stressed, he looks at the whole situation, and he's mature in his ideas and the way he listens to other people. Like a counselor- he really wraps up our ideas. And Nakai- as a team, he really thinks about each one of us.

SONG: ARIGATOU- SMAP

The design of the cover-- we thought of many things--like using the alphabet to formulate the words, but it ended up as 10 ants. (ari ga tou = there are 10 ants) It was our landing point. I thought at first- is it really ok to do 10 ants? Wouldn't it be weird? But I looked at each ant, and I noticed something. But then I looked at the illustration on the cover carefully, and I asked the manager, "Wait.. did Shingo draw these (ants)?" And the manager immediately cleared his throat like "Oh no he found out".

Well Arigatou, our 40th single will be released next week!-- in english, it is Thank you. In French, it's Merci. (ahhh Takuya's french is sooo cute!) And in Chinese, Shei Shei. And now here is a question. In the Viking country, Norway, what is it? How do you you say "thank you"? "Takku". I think it's fate. My name in Norway is "thank you"! If any of the listeners know how to pronounce it, please write in.

Since we still have time left over..

SONG: SHOW YOUR SMILE (coupling song of Arigatou)!!

The weather has been pretty crazy recently. (as in hot) It's setting records. I saw around town, lots of people are using sun umbrellas. I wonder.. why do people who use their sun umbrellas look so happy? I think they should put on a more frustrated face right when they open their umbrella. (??) My schedule has been pretty busy recently.. With (shooting) locations, and locations, and locations.. (HE'S DROPPING A HINT-- HE'S FILMING A DORAMA RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!)

KIMURA TAKUYA'S WUS OCT 13, 2006

SMAP 2006 LIVE TOUR has finished!!! Tobimasu, Tobidasu, Tobisuma tour was the weird name for it. We have finished flying.

We had our final at Tokyo dome. So many people came to the concert- thank you very much. And there were many different types of people. I could hear the fans who scream "Captain!!!!" But other than sound, many different fans caught my eye. At the 9/27 concert, there was this "no face" (Kaonashi) among the arena. Two of them. In the anime, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi, there is a character called Kaonashi. In the opening, we come flying out from the back of the stage.. How high is it? After we say "Let's go!" with high tension backstage, we climb a flight of stairs to the stand where we fly out of.. Why do we climb so many stairs even before the live starts? The opening song is Dear Woman, and I start singing the first verse. (he sings: Kimi ga donnani hitei shitemo) Right, and from my view on the stage, I looked a bit to the right.. And then when I went to sing the next part, right at the word "utsukushii" I started walking towards the left in the formation change. The fans are all jumping and screaming. But among those fans, I glanced and saw 2 dots that aren't moving at all. And I looked closely and there were 2 people wearing all black.. With painted white faces and makeup that looks like Kaonashi's face. It shocked me so I couldn't really believe my eyes at first. I didn't think it was real. I got a bit scared at first at that moment. Like.. oh I think I saw it. (a ghost). I had some eye contact with Shingo, and his face too was not the face of someone singing Dear Woman. So it was silent eye contact, as if "did you see it too?" And later, during the MC we brought the subject up and I asked the cameraman to show the Kaonashis on the monitor. And the Kaonashis were holding uchiwas, and we wanted to know whose uchiwas. They were Tsuyoshi's and Shingo's. But Tsuyoshi seemed to not know what a Kaonashi was, which was surprising. And when we said to the Kaonashis "Oh you scared us", they took off their hoods and started apologizing, which was heartwarming.

SONG- SMAP- shake

During the live, when we are singing SHAKE, there are fireworks. Even in the dome, we have a smaller set of fireworks. And we have professionals who have to measure the height of the fireworks so that it's safe. And during the song, we try to appeal to the professionals too like "yay!!" but they are all wearing uniforms and their faces are serious.. I learned that I'm not supposed to try to appeal to them at a serious time like that.

FAX:
Thank you for a wonderful live. My friend told me that there were MC's where you talked about eating out with the members a lot after the concerts. Usually, you don't go out to eat that much. But this time, why did you go out more? Because it is the 15th year? Please share stories about eating out with the members.

I usually don't eat much after the live. Last year, I didn't go much. But I wonder why I went out a lot this year? Our concerts are long- 3 and a half hours. And after the live, we go backstage and have a shower and change our clothes. But then we got the information that the room service ended, so said "then we can't eat anything?" So they would offer us to eat at the stadium with their catered food. But we didn't want to eat at the stadium. So another staff member would came up to us and said they held reservations at a restaurant just in case. This "just in case" is the point. And I asked "Is any member going?" And the staff said "We're pretty sure Kusanagi san and Inagaki san are going" and they ask me if I'm interested. It's not really like "let's go!", it's more like "let's see if he wants to go". So it has nothing to do with our 15th anniversary. Just the schedule and the circumstances. We had sushi, yakiniku, washoku.. And in Osaka, this place called Udonski. The staff recommended it to us. But Nakai kun never came once to eat with us. Because he injured his leg, and after the concert the trainer had to care for him.

Every time, I think.. It's good to drink sake but I wonder why the members drink that much. It's ok if you're strong with alcohol, but I wonder why they drink so much. On the way back to the hotel, they get so drunk. On the way to the room, the hall is long right? And walk down the hall like a ping-pong ball. You can hear the banging against the wall, yelling "where is my room!". I don't want to say any names.. But Chonan. (tsuyoshi!!)

I have one advice I want to give to the ladies in the world about drinking. There is this saying "Even if you drink, don't be drunk (nomareruna) by others" (like don't let others take advantage of you?) But I want to say "Even if you drink. don't get rubbed (?)(momareruna)" *Silence* Keep this in your heart when drinking. And also, recently there are many people who drink and drive. Please be careful.

Song: Locomotion

We were discussing ideas of what songs we can include in the live, where everyone can be included in the song. Something fast-paced.. And I suggested the soccer song, Aida.. the song where it's pretty much yelling the whole time. And the staff also decided to include Locomotion. And during the concert, Locomotion becomes really high-tension. Some people (foreigners) who attend our concerts- those who don't know smap songs, when we start singing Locomotion, they close their eyes and sing along because they know it well. They are in their own world when we start singing "Come on baby, do the locomotion".

FAX:
I enjoyed the concerts, thank you. I went to the 9/27 Tokyo dome concert. It was funny when Shingo tried to kiss you and you ran away. The next day's concert, Koda Kumi chan came, and I was sad that I missed it.

A lot of different people came to watch it, many whom I have acted with. Koda Kumi chan did come to participate on stage. When I walked backstage, she was sitting there, stretching normally. It was a weird feeling- Eh, she's here?! I told her "today- yoroshiku ne!" and she said "yaa today is going to be mecha yabai". She wasn't nervous at all. It was kakkoii. Even Shingo, and the staging. I would give it a 100%. The funny part was Goro backstage, who had to perform his solo after Shingo's. He was saying "It will be hard..ahh I can't go out". We were watching the monitor of the solo backstage, and the stage tension was at the max at that point.

Near the stage, there is a section for people we know. So every day there is a different set of people sitting in that area. One time it was Takeuchi Maria, Mitani Kouki, Oshikiri Moe, Ebichan.. Even though I am on stage, seeing them there feels unreal.

FAX:
Captain!! Did you see Oshikiri Moe san's blog? She said she attended SMAP's concert on September 28th. And on the blog, she posted a picture of Fukishima kun (Takuya's manager). He is smiling so widely and standing in the middle, overshining Oshikiri Moe even.

(Takuya calls Fukishima kun who is in the same recording studio)
(He tells Fukushima:) Look at this blog, it's Oshikiri Moe san's blog.

(he reads the blog) September 29th: I went to SMAP's concert with Takizawa Saori after filming.

And look at this photo. (fukushima goes "ahhh") What is this picture?
Fukushima: I took it in private with her
Takuya: yes but the people who look at Moe chan's blog want to see her, not you.
Fukushima: It was taken by her cell phone
Takuya: bakajyanai omai (you idiot =) ) In this generation, you can post anything on the internet. I didn't know you can smile like that. When did you take it?
Fukushima: I just ran into her in town.
Takuya: That smile looks a bit hentai even.
Takuya: As manager, can you request a song?
Fukushima: Well ARIGATOU for looking at the blog.
Takuya: that's not the type of song you should request in this situation. I want to punch you for the first time in 15 years. (haha)

SONG: ARIGATOU- SMAP

Last week, I said that in Norwegian, "thank you" is "Tak". I did some more research on the internet. Even in Denmark, "thank you" is "Tak". But do you know that in Denmark, "thank you very much" is "mangetak" So everyone, "mangetak" for coming to the live!

KIMURA TAKUYA'S WUS OCTOBER 20, 2006

(shortened version)

It has finished!! The opening eve of the Tokyo Film Festival (featuring) Bushi no Ichibun. But the info on that can be found on tv, so those who want to learn more about it, please watch tv. We can do our own thing on radio today.

FAX: (kimura apparently went to Yamagata-village town- to promote Bushi no Ichibun and the fax thanked him for coming- no one expected Kimura Takuya in the countryside)

Yes yes I went on October 2nd. A night train aroun 11 PM to Niigata from Tokyo first, then to Yamagata. And I was able to interact with the people on the train with the conductor. It was the first time I did that. The train had Bushi no Ichibun poster painted on the sides. It was a special train. The director Yamada-Yoji was on it too, so the conductor was really high-tension and in the announcement he really wanted to say "Thank you for riding with us on the Bushi no Ichibun train". But instead, he was a bit too high tension and said "Thank you for riding with us on the Bushi no IchibuBUN train". I mentioned it to the director but he had a pretty calm reaction, like "is that so?"

(Takuya then talked about visiting a jinjya temple in Yamagata and eating Imoni food)

(He talked about his director and how his director still acts like a director to him outside of filming. (like a coach, lecturer))

-->lots of faxes regarding the fact that Takuya ate Imoni-- a special food from Yamagata-- (what is imoni??- a type of potato)

At the imoni fest, everyone sits facing the same direction eating Imoni. I thought it was surreal how everyone was sitting the same way, chewing Imoni. I thought it was a skit or something. But I sat down with them and ate some imoni. I tried to make myself believe it wasn't a surreal skit, and I asked questions like "what is the sauce made of?" And half-jokingly, half-earnestly, I asked one of the locals sitting near me "excuse me, can I have some shichimi? (a spice to make bland food taste better)" And there were some people laughing at that, and some completely serious. I got a sense of "local" type feeling. But I kept saying "it's oishii, umai!!" And they told me, "over here, we say 'unmei-no' to mean "oishii"" So I said, "yes it's unmeino" and the people around me became high tension like "oh he said it!!" I had a feeling this event might make it to the newspapers the next day, but the next day- there were so many headlines on it. In every picture, I am eating potatoes. It made me laugh.

When you cut the potatoes up for children, I think this is how you should call the small potatoes-- "Puchii-moni" (puchii=tiny) *silence* How does that sound? Use the phrase!!

(another fax on imoni)

Imoni really brings a lot of high tension discussion topics. Like "what type of sauce? Shoyu? Miso?" I wanted shichimi personally. But I said it a little jokingly and the people around me looked at me like they had heard no such thing of eating it with shichimi. The people there were amazing though- they were really 'straight' and sincere. Like their eyes were their hearts.

KIMURA TAKUYA'S WUS OCT 27, 2006

(faxes regarding the Gyuuniku-domanaka (beef rice) Takuya ate in the shinkansen bullet train-- he mentioned this in last wk's WUS)

Fax:
I'm glad you mentioned Gyuuniku-domanaka because that is my favorite dish!! (she elaborates on why it is called Gyuuniku-domanaka)

The most amazing thing is that on the announcements, they actually say "Gyuuniku-domanaka; we are selling Gyuuniku domanaka" on the announcements. Right when I heard that, I just shut the cover of the bento the staff had already prepared for me. At that moment, I thought 'this bento is not the one I should be eating', even though it is rude to the staff. When you think "cabin attendant", it's just like "oh ok" but when you say "stewardess" (in english), there is an element in that word that makes one's heart pound. Just like saying "nurse" (in english). Do you get it? "Nurse" feels a bit more special.

So I thought up my own name for a bento (boxed lunch). Instead of gyuuniku (beef), we can use chicken (tori) right? And this bento has domanaka rice. Also there is a famous dish called "kurimeshi". So we can combine both tori and kuri with the rice. You understand where I'm getting to right? I don't really have to say it outloud. But it's "kuritori (vibrator) domanaka". (my note: domanaka is a type of rice but it also can mean "smack dab in the center") *silence* I know I didn't have to say it outloud, but I did just in case.. For the middle-schoolers. (AHH!! I can't believe he can be so openly sukebe when talking about food!!!!)

There are things I happen to buy just because of the way they are called. Recently in supermarkets, there is this popular type of tofu. The director has bought it just for me from the market and it's right in front of me. It is called "Wave riding Johnny". It's in the shape of a surfboard. This name might be good for a smap song. Oh we already have one for natto (a sticky bean dish). "Natto- Makeruna Baby-Neba (never) give up" (nebaneba is a way to say "slimy/sticky" in Japanese and makeruna means "don't lose") Oh this one doesn't work, it's already losing.

Today I am full of the motivation to keep talking about useless things; this is Kimura Takuya broadcasting WUS nationwide. Really, we have been talking about nonsense. I'm sorry. You listeners must be thinking- why is he talking about boring topics with such high tension? But really- the other day I turned on FM on the radio and there were so many DJ's talking in such low tension voices the whole time. They were really not into it. Like this- (in a boring voice) "Well yes.. In my opinion, the thing I like most is.." But I kept listening to it, hoping they would raise their tension..

Fax:
You talked about eating bento in the train last week. Takuya kun, do you eat bentos during work? I always have this image of celebs dining in the tv headquarter dining room.. What type of food do you eat during your work?

Well I have been doing lots of different types of work.. But they don't make me bring my own bento. From the time I was a bug.. (laughs) Sorry, that came out wrong. From the time I wore lime green from head to foot with Reebok sneakers and carried a skateboard to work, yelling (in a kid's voice) "Konbanwaa!!", I have been eating lunch at the filming cafeteria room. Back then they made us spray water at bikini-clad girls. That was our role. When the ladies entered the room (in a show), we had to spray them. We just obeyed whatever we were told to do. I remember eating at the poolside. And the director back then would yell at us "find somewhere else to eat!!" That same director still works at the TMC, but nowadays when we pass each other down the hall, he greets me very warmly. Before he used to scold us to shreds. Back then they made us do a lot of stuff we really didn't want to do, so I think that's why they gave us nice bentos.. The bentos at smapxsmap are really delicious. I wonder what the other members do? Do they eat bento? Sorry, I don't know because I don't go to the dressing room for my bento. They should eat bento, because they should eat the same thing as the staff. Demai? Catered food? Who dothey think they are?! Why am I getting heated about this? It's not a big deal right, because it's their own food.

This one director I really like cooks our food for us. He brings a stove for us. It's his policy to feed everyone vegetables or something. I know this only because one time while he was eating by himself, I heard him talking to himself. He was muttering "it's not right.. it's not right to not feed them warm food and vegetables". And I thought-- this is one man who really cares about us.

FAX:
Did you know there was a poll released online about which celebrities go well with beer? You were #4 on the beer list and Shingo was 1st and Tsuyoshi was 3rd. And on the list of the celebs who go well with Bojorenubo wine, you were sixth. What type of drink do you like?

Right now I found the poll online. It's true, I'm number 4. But to be honest I don't really like beer that much. I wonder why I got on the list. I can understand Shingo because it's gasoline for him. And number 5 is Nagase Tomoya and 6 is Satoo Koiichi. Satoo Koiichi should be ranked above me. Because there is no one who drinks beer as deliciously as him. (Satoo Koiichi has a beer commercial). And the wine list looks wrong too. Across the street from TMC, the owner of the shop gives me a half bottle of Bojorenubo each year. I don't know why it's a half, but I guess I have it once every year.. But it doesn't go as far to say I go well with wine. Because I am the type of person who mixes ice water with red wine. I like it so-so. Maybe this list should be re-thought. When I was young I just drank Jack Daniel to be cool thinking it tastes disgusting inside. What is my favorite type of wine? There never was one that I really truly loved. Maybe last year on the anniversary of SMAP after the live, Abe san (staff) brought us a wine bottle each the same age as we smap. Apparently according to Goro it was really expensive. That one was tasty, but I went home that night and drank it withh ice water. So that expensive 1991 bottle of wine turned into a type of grape juice.. It was still very good. But when I tell Goro this, he always says "I can't believe you Kimura kun".

FAX:
I heard Tsuyoshi say once on tv that he drinks in his private life but he's the type that tries not to cause trouble to others.

Reading this.. Inside I feel a bit of a question mark. The staff in this WUS stadium- 2 Victor staff members and 2 managers- are laughing right now like "what is tsuyoshi trying to pull"? Tsuyoshi's statement contradicts the way I described his drinking on WUS.

Arigatou's coupling.. Show your smile. Frankly I like this song better. (laughs) (my note: me too!!)

SONG: SHOW YOUR SMILE--SMAP

I wonder what the other members are like. There are many faxes asking how much the other members drink. I think I drink the least among the members. Shingo drinks beer mostly. Tsuyoshi can drink anything. Any type. And Goro chan drinks all types of wine, but he can drink anything really. If people around him are drinking, he'll drink it too. Goro and Tsuyoshi are all-rounders. And Nakai likes Shouchuu. And me- wine? But the wine I drink it like grape juice- with ice water mixed.
